Working with the Cardiff Design Festival organisers at the University of Wales Institute Cardiff (UWIC), we established a need for approachability and public participation within the 2007 festival. We developed the festival’s brand, bringing a sense of energy, vibrancy and public appeal through the introduction of colour to indicate hot spots: areas of city that feature as destinations the festivals events.
The brand identity and brand communications were positioned to attract the growing attendance by the design community within Wales, the overall public exposure to the Festival and most importantly to maintain the festival as a viable sustainable future to increase support and sponsorship for the programme of events.

In 2006 before we made adjustments to the brand, the festival was centred around 11 key events. In 2007 the itinerary had risen to over 25 an increase of 125%. Participation also increased through the whole programme of events. Through the success of the 2007 festival, Hoffi has been retained as the designers for the 2008 which will be held in October.
"Hoffi's commitment to ensuring the success of the festival went way beyond a professional design job. They were partners in the true sense of the word, offering their own insights and experience, providing a sounding board for ideas and contributing their own - oh and they designed the festival website and the publicity material, no fuss, fast and utterly reliable - and fun to deal with."
